Woolacombe is a beautify seaside village with a long sandy beach, which stretches south for about 3 miles. The beach is popular with surfers and families and there are plenty of facilities and parking. To the north of the main beach is a large rocky section of coastline topped by the village green and war memorial. Beyond there are two smaller beaches Barricane Beach, which is quite small and narrow and Combesgate Beach which is larger.
Please pay attention when walking dogs on Woolacombe Beach and other beaches in North Devon, on rare occasions palm oil does wash ashore;not good for inquisitive dogs.
